From Bonaventure River to Monts-Valin: Faunik's adventures in 2024

Our recent adventures have taken us to destinations where wilderness and a passion for fishing and hunting amalgamate to create unforgettable memories.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Martin Poisson and his team, whose impeccable organization made our experience extraordinary. It wasn’t just a fishing trip, but an intense salmon chase. Spring is a scouting season, and the first thing to do is to observe the salmon coming up the river. Once spotted, the job is half done, and the next challenge is to strategically cast our line to sweep the pool. After a few unsuccessful tries, we were lucky enough to hook a huge salmon weighing over 20 pounds, one of the 10 biggest that Martin, our experienced guide, had ever seen on this river. But that was only the beginning! Each angler in our group had the opportunity to catch large salmon newly arriving from the sea, offering spectacular fights. It was an exceptional fishing experience, engraved in our memories, and I highly recommend this adventure to everyone, accompanied by the exceptional services of Pourvoirie Destination Le Mirage.

Cocooned on a houseboat, we felt like we were alone in the world, surrounded by vast expanses of water and wilderness. The walleye and pike fishing was extraordinary, with every cast promising a catch. Sharing moments with our wives added a special dimension to this trip, strengthening the bonds around our common passion. The evenings were just as magical, under a starry sky, far from any artificial light. We shared stories, laughter and pure moments of tranquility, creating everlasting memories. Reservoir Gouin is a remarkable location, where breathtaking scenery blends perfectly with exceptional fishing. Every moment spent in this natural environment reminded us how blessed we are to be able to explore such hidden treasures.

This place is a true hunting and fishing paradise, with abundant wildlife and exceptional service. The Monts-Valin speckled trout, always 100% indigenous, are brilliantly coloured, offering a unique fishing experience. The main lake and generous waters offer exceptional fishing quality. The hunting is equally excellent. On the very first evening, we spotted three bears and harvested one. All the participating hunters witnessed these animals in action, making the bear hunt particularly exciting. The outfitter’s team provided expert guidance to ensure our success. The outfitter’s site, magnificently landscaped in a natural setting, offered comfort and authenticity, perfectly complementing the experience.

Whether for fishing or hunting, each of these destinations provided moments of pure happiness, always in perfect union with a generous and unspoilt natural environment.
